The Today Show Climbs the 114 Steps

The cast and crew of The Today Show joined the estimated two million Hilton Head Island visitors who have been welcomed personally by Lighthouse Keeper Nadia Wagner at the famed Harbour Town Lighthouse on Thursday, May 19.

A landmark not only in travels, but also in lives, the lighthouse has been the scene of the first kiss, the engagement, the wedding, the quarterly business report, and the shareholder announcement of families and enterprises from across the nation and around the world.

For more than 70 years, the longest-running morning news show in history, Today has greeted the mornings of countless viewers and shared with them clues for planning their day. At the Harbour Town Lighthouse, visitors and residents alike celebrate the blend of nature and resort that made Hilton Head Island America’s favorite vacation island for more than half a century.

The two vast influences came together in a typically personal, comfortable, happy, and informative chat that helped complete the picture Today was composing for their viewers. The view from the top of the lighthouse — and from the heart of the lighthouse — simply cannot be duplicated. We were happy for the opportunity to celebrate this view with millions at a stroke, thanks to the loyal audience earned by our friends at The Today Show.
